Can you believe this little man turned one last month? Where did that go? For real, how did that happen so fast? He is our sweet man, always smiling, playing, snuggling, giggling and growling. We love our little Zacky very much! Check my facebook for the whole photo shoot.

Merry Christmas, letter time!

2011 was a very full year of ups and downs and all arounds.

Zackary was born technically last December but still was our first year with him :) He has been nothing but a joy, one of the happiest babies ever! So snuggly and lovey and happy all the time. We didn't know he knew how to cry until he started teething this summer :) He is a our big man, been walking since October and getting into everything. He loves his big sister and brother so much and loves to do what they are doing. He turns one on the 9th and we are having a Mickey Mouse Club House party for him.

Ryken is a big preschooler this year. It was hard goings at first, didn't want mommy to leave but we developed a hug system ( he choose how many he needs before I leave )and he has been great since. Comes home singing songs and talks so much and is so fun and smart. We can't wait to start sports this springs since he will be turning 4 and can sign up. He honestly never stops running around and playing and doing things. Some of his funny quotes are from the following situations. He was running around in our apartment and I was honestly fed up, so I said "PLEASE.STOP.RUNNING.AROUND!" and he said "can we jump around?" and I said, "what?" and he said "you know, jump around" as he preceded to demonstrate by jumping in a cirlce... the monkey. Another time Steve was heading out to rake leaves and Ryken headed after him. I said "you have to stay inside, it is too cold" and he said "but I am daddy's mini-me" and I said "so?" and he said "I am his mini-me so I can go wherever he goes!" man, that kid is hilarious :)

Jasmin is in kindergarten! Ah! Mommy almost died having to drop her off. She is LOVING it. Loves her teacher, loved her first field trip on a real school bus, loves learning and doing centers and going to the library and being able to read books by herself. She made it on the Hot Shot team this year at her dance studio, so the team above last years team and is truly loving that this year. She loves being a big sister, sometimes too much ;) Really, you couldn't ask for a better helper and she loves playing with her brothers. In April we found out she is blind in one eye, apparently has been since birth, so still figuring out a diagnosis, two drs gave us two different reasons why so we plan to go to one if not two more specialists and see what they say. She blows our mind that even with that set back she just thrives in life.

This year was rather full for us as a family. Most of it has been the past few months. We sold our home in Provo faster than we thought we would and so had to hurry and find somewhere to live so ended up in a 900 sq ft apartment in orem. Coming from a 1300 sq ft home with garage and backyard was insane, half our stuff was sent to each of our parents to help store while we crammed 5 people into 2 rooms in the apartment. We thought we were going to build a home but couldn't find a lot in our price range where we wanted to live, so decided to look for a home to buy and found a foreclosure in Orem that fit the bill. We found it October 26 and got the keys to it Nov 23. It was built the same year we were married, 2005, so that made it extra fun and special :D

We are excited for this next adventure in our lives and planting some roots. Our ward was amazingly welcoming and friendly so excited to make new friendships there. Fingers crossed on no crazy callings ;)

We have so much to be thankful for this year, and couldn't be happier. We hope that this letter finds you and your loved ones in the same boat. We wish you all a very Merry Christmas and the happiest of New Years :) We love you!

Yes, where in the world have I been? Busy as all get out! Currently we are residing in a little apartment in Orem since we sold our house (SUPER YAY!!!!) and haven't figured out where we are building, if we are building or buying... it seems to change daily, ugh! Either way I hope to be there by December, so we will see :) It is crowded in this apartment, but light at the end of the tunnel, sacrifices worth it!

Jasmin started kindergarten at Sharon Elementary and has the cutest teacher! Mrs Crowley :) When she went to her kindergarten assessment, her teacher kept praising her and later told me that she got to do tests with Jasmin that she usually doesn't get to do because she kept doing it right and so kept advancing. Go Jasmin!
She also made the Hot Shot team at her dance studio. Once again the smallest on her team but kicking it already ( couple of solo parts in 2 of the numbers so far )

Ryken started preschool! It took 3 times of going, but he does not cry when I leave him now, woot woot! He especially love show and tell :) He is dieing for our "big house" because he found some new toys during the move that we are not opening until we are settled. Steve won't even open up the 47 inch tv he won at work until we are settled, argh!

Zackary is getting so big! He now has 2 teeth officially, with 2 more working their way out. He crawls everywhere! He cruises along things too, so I know walking is around the corner. He will be 9 months tomorrow, and I do not know where that went. He talks so much but his favorite way to communicate is grunting and growling, it seriously is the cutest and funniest thing ever. He will look right at you and grunt, he totally knows what he is doing :)

Steve and I? We are here, tired and heads spinning figuring it all out :) Will try to keep you better posted. Again, if you facebook, ADD ME! I throw pics up there all the time.

So yes, we are moving, in like 3 weeks, and this all came to head um, yesterday! ARGH! Not that we haven't wanted to in ages and I am not excited for the next step in our lives, I am seriously OVERWHELMED! Can one even find a house to buy and buy it in 3 weeks? Wish us luck!

Christmas Letter 2010

So I am behind on posts, I need to upload Jasmin's videos of her school program and I will soon, lots of pictures too...we just have been recovering still so everything is behind.

Here is the update letter, when you get your christmas card from us ( sometime like next week I will mail them :) ) it directs you here for the letter and pictures. So here goes.

One word can describe this year and that is FAST! Where did it go? We got pregnant in March and somehow it was December before we knew it. We tried to fill the summer with as much as we could, tons of parades, Jasmin took a tumbling class, Seven Peaks season passes with Aunties and Uncles so went there a couple times a week. Then school started, so off to Orem 3 times a week for that; then Jasmin made the competition team so dance 2 times a week... poor Ryken is so ready to be in school, he cannot wait until next year. He is so full of energy, we might have to look into spring soccer this year.

Christmas came early for our family, 16 days early to be exact. Zackary was born on Dec 9th, and has been a joy since. Both Jasmin and Ryken love him; Ryken can't wait for a buddy to play with and Jasmin loves holding him and kissing his head. Mommy and Daddy love how mellow our little guy is.

Steve and I are well. He is still at Pepsi and I still sell Close to my Heart, Usborne, and now Scentsy from home. We both enjoyed playing basketball with our ward this year and keep busy with our church callings ( Steve is still assistant cub scout master and I enrichment coordinator and both of us still on ward activities committee. )

We look forward to 2011, hopefully it will bring good fortune in the shape of us selling our home and getting a bigger one now that we are a family of 5. We wish all those who are reading this many blessings and good health to you and your loved ones.

So sad story about the concert. Jasmin's solo was number 2 of the night, that part isn't sad but awesome! During her performance she kept staring at the ground and moving stage right ( or left? ) when she was supposed to be centered. SO after she was done and I head back to help her change, I was like ready to question what happened... she knows that routine and LOVES to perform it. I get back there and she is almost in tears because apparently she saw a big white spider on the stage next to her when she started. Seriously, we saw kids playing with this spider before hand and I almost squished it and totally regretted not. There are parts in the number where she is on the ground, so can see why it was freaking her out. When asked why she didn't stomp on it, she said "that wasn't part of my dance" Hilarious :D

So I don't think I weighed everything out when Jasmin made the competition team at her dance studio. The extra hours of dance class, the extra costumes and the makeup and hair. Today we learned how to do their hair the way her teacher wants and how to do the make up....can you believe she is only 5? Granted all the other girls in her class are like 8-10, so maybe it isn't too drastic for their parents... maybe? But man it was blowing my mind to see her looking this grownup.

random thoughts pt 2

um so yeah, half of my post was missing from last time, and I was kind of depressed it was gone and put off doing it all over again, so here is my attempt to do so... finally ;)

The kiddles are getting so big, it really does blow my mind. They play together so well... most of the time ;) Sometimes it is like cats and dogs, no lie, but 90 percent of the time the do everything together. Which I think is why Ryken misses Jasmin so much when she is at school or dance. Some of the games they play, make me laugh so hard. They love to play puppy and take turns being the owner and being the puppy... I know, we will have one some day, but I want to wait until we are done having kids so I have energy to train a puppy. They love to take turns spinning each other in the swings, or playing "rescue" by the castle, or going shopping, the games are endless...

Speaking of having kids... I am almost 7 months along, and I am not sure where that went? Granted I know I am the size of a cow whale, so easy to believe 7 months, but man it seems like it was fast. Little brother is going to be here soon and the whole family dynamics are going to change. I wonder how it will be... right now little man is such my snuggle bug, I hope that doesn't change. He seems excited to "teach baby brother how to shoot the ball ( basketball )" hopefully that excitement stays once he is actually here. We honestly have no names in mind for little brother, NONE. We know middle name will be Steven, and just can't seem to come up with any good first names ( good equals sounds well with steven as middle name and isn't a name with a bad connotation or has already been used )

We have been having insurance issues that are incredibly frustrating. Long story short, our insurance told 3 different people ( myself included ) that we could have Ryken's teeth fixed at UVRMC and then after all is done a bill is now 10 times what is should have been... and now we have to have baby brother over at Timpanogos in Orem instead of at UVRMC that is down the road... I was not very happy about this entire situation and still am trying to get things ironed out, so has been a weighing issue on my stress level lately.

On a happier note fall seems to be around the corner and I.AM.SO.EXCITED!!! Fall has always been my favorite season. I love the crisp air, the smells, the food, the football, the holidays, LOVE IT! I have been trying really hard to be on the ball this year and have all events I want to attend planned out, so to not forget to do anything. Pumpkinland, safety fairs, free craft nights, trick or treating EVERYWHERE!, party for any and all reasons, can you tell I love this time of year?

Ok, well that is all for now, I know I had other updates and thoughts to share, but my brain is kind of fried, being a cow whale makes it hard to find comfortable way to sleep at night and having to go to bathroom every other hour because baby brother seems to be parked on my bladder don't make for a very conscious mommy.

Some updates...

Jasmin is loving her preschool and dance classes. She is a super star and on the jr crew :) Which means competition teams. She is having a ball being with the big girls.

Poor Ryken wants to go to school so bad, when we drop sister off or when we drive past a school he starts asking to go. He loves big trucks, since we have had like nonstop construction around us this whole summer, he is always asking to see the big trucks.

Watching the two of them play kills me. They are getting so big. I mean, five years ago this week we became parents... where did that go?

Jasmin's Birthday 2010

Jasmin wanted a Cinderella birthday party this year, and she got two! Her school class is so big this year that I split it up and did a school party and then a church friends party. Both were a blast :) She thoroughly enjoyed herself. Then we had the Richters over that evening and had pizza and then Auntie Jujee took us out for Maceys ice cream. The Lewis side came on sunday and we had cupcakes. Then on her actual birthday we took her to Chuck-a-rama and then to Kmart to pick up the new tinkerbell movie and let her pick out which doll she wanted ( you get the doll for .97 cents if you buy it same time as the movie ) and then home to open the costume she wanted for Halloween this year and to watch our new movie as a family. She told me it was the best birthday ever :) Hopefully I get that reaction each year ;)

So yes, I didn't think to blog about our newest news because, hello, I facebooked it and doesn't that mean everyone knows now??? Ha, so I apologize that those of my adoring viewers who are not my facebook friend are now finding out later than, yanno, everyone else ;)

We are pregnant... well, mostly just me, the one throwing up and feeling nauseous all the time, and overheated at night, and constantly having to get up and hit the bathroom and already looking 5 month when only 2, etc... but it is a family affair to a certain extent, so I say we :D

Poor little baby is due first week of December, such a horrible month to have a birthday, imo. When we told the kiddles, Jasmin's first response was "is it a girl baby?" ha, we will see :) Though according to her, she is already telling people it is a girl, but we won't be making that announcement for some time ;) And when we do, I promise to blog it first, not facebook :D

This year went by way too fast. Ryken will be two in two months and I can't believe it. Jasmin turned 4 this year and started preschool and lessons at a dance studio and it blows my mind. Where has the time gone? I am now a believer that if you blink you will miss it because it truly goes by that fast.

Steve is still at Pepsi, he moved through a few different routes, helping revive them, and is now on a Provo route. This is so fun, because he gets home sooner and we can take him lunch, on occasion. He is the assistant cub master in our local cub scouts, so that is fun for him.

The most exciting things for me this year were figuring out the joys of swapping homemade cards and pages and then getting called to Enrichment *cough* meeting *cough* Leader for our ward. We bought our first van this summer, so that was another fun highlight of the year.

It has been a pretty low key year, and we don't mind that at all. We hope that those reading this letter are in good health and that your loved ones are as well. May you have a great Christmas season and a fabulous new year.

SO I had to steal these of my friends blog, because somehow I forgot to take my camera when I took Jasmin to the Little Mermaid production at the Covey Center. It was a local dance studio's production and it was so fun. Seriously though, it was a bit trippy since I am sure it is our future because Jasmin loves dancing so much.

Ok, time for the long boring wordy part, hope you are enjoying all the pics :)

Let's see, where to start...

Yellowstone was amazing! I have never been there before, nor have the kiddles so it was all new to us and it was awesome. We stayed in a timeshare that a lady my father-in-law works with let us use and it rocked. We were only there for a weekend but we did and saw so much that I honestly felt like we were there longer. We headed up Friday morning arrived that evening and chilled at the timeshare. We had originally planned to hit up some bear park in Idaho on the way there but it was unfortunately closed. We enjoyed the pool at the joint that night before hitting the sacks, Jasmin made a little friend in the kiddy pool who had brought dolls, that was quite fun to watch them play. Michael and Jeff made a little friend too ;) Who we actually ran into the next day in the park "Look, Jeff, it's the girl from the pool" Hilarious!
So yes, Saturday we got up early and went into the park. There were a lot of trees at first and we finally saw some Bison across the river and I was honestly thinking, man this is going to suck since I don't know where to look or what exactly to look for when we went around a bend and bam, there were bison in the road, trotting along. Hello, they have no fear and just go where they want. There were tons and tons of bison and elk everywhere, so spotting them turned out to not be as difficult as I thought. The secret is, if you see a car pulled over, pull over too, they probably have spotted something. We saw a couple of wolves the first day, and a bald eagle and even a bear, it totally rocked. We went and saw old faithful and a bunch of hot pots along the way. Jasmin called them the " stinky geysers " and for weeks afterwards woke up every morning asking if we were going to see the "stinky geysers and animals" Ever now and then she still mentions them :) We saw the worlds tallest geyser ( steamboat ) and a bunch of little ones. It was crazy now in some areas there was like 10 feet of snow and then the baren areas of hot springs and pots. That night we went to the discovery center they had right next to our timeshare and it totally rocked. It was right before they were closing so the wolves and bears that live there and are the exhibits were playful as can be. Ryken loved the wolves and would squeal with delight when they would come up to the window and follow him. We went and saw them the next day, and it was nothing like the night before, so if you go, go before closing time because they are so much more alive then. The gift shop had this huge bear couch and the kids loved playing on it. The also had tons of fun toys they would have loved, but a) no room to take home and b) no way I am spending 200 bucks on a rocking bear.

The next day we went in early again to the park, in an attempt to see more wolves since we only saw two the day before and in our excitement over the bear, missed out on seeing a pack of them. We in fact saw 2 and got some good shots, so that was fun ( oh and I spotted them, right when most of us were falling asleep and I too was about to close my eyes, I saw the first guy running across a meadow of snow and his friend was near behind him ) We saw another bald eagle that day too.

So yes, Yellowstone rocked, it was a blast and I would totally go back again anytime, I think it would be fun to go fall, I bet it is really pretty then.

Jasmin's recital was so stinking cute. I made matching tutus for the little girls and they were told to wear black and it just turned out so great. She did so well, though she was tired ( it is an afternoon class as opposed to the morning one she had last sem ) and she fell once, during the tap routine which was so sad because afterwards that was what she kept telling us "I fell", but they had installed hardwoods floors a few weeks prior so the kiddles weren't used to it's slickery-ness yet. She loved getting flowers from daddy afterwards and the fact that her friend Hailey came to watch. So it was good times.
